Mr. Gilman is a registered Professional Civil Engineer currently employed by the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) in the Maintenance Division. In addition to his civil engineering duties, Mr. Gilman has utilized his computer talents to develop, implement, and provide user support for a Local Area Network. Mr. Gilman has had extensive relational database manipulation experience.

Prior to working at VDOT, Mr. Gilman was proprietor of a value added reseller company which specialized in Geographic Information Systems. This opportunity required proficiency in both relational and spatial information.

Since the advent of personal computers, Mr. Gilman has used most all operating systems including Mainframes, UNIX, DOS, Windows (95-ME, NT, 2000, XP) and Macintosh. Applications used in each environment are to numerous to list.

Acknowledging the importance of information sharing in todays work environment, Mr. Gilman was quick to recognize the importance of the World Wide Web and was instrumental in the initial development of several engineering web servers and homepages. Additionally, Mr. Gilman noted the tremendous marketing potential and started his own limited liability company which focuses on engineering consulting and management of websites.
